The UK, US, and Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 9, 2024. This started a new trilateral partnership that will improve strategic cooperation and deal with risks to important supply lines.

The MoU sets up the Australia-United Kingdom-United States Supply Chain Resilience Cooperation Group to share data and work together to make priority supply chains more resilient. This will make it easier for all three countries to find and deal with risks, threats, and disruptions to their critical supply chains.

The Group will create a trial early warning system that will focus on the telecoms supply chain, which is very important for our digitalized, global markets. This study will help all three countries learn more about the risks, weaknesses, and leftover risks by finding and keeping an eye on disruption risks to the telecoms supply chain. It will come up with ways for people to share this information and work together when there are problems.

For the UK’s growing goal to be successful, it is important to strengthen its most important trade lines. This deal strengthens the strong and long-standing relationship between the UK, the US, and Australia. It also shows that we are all still committed to solving problems in supply chains.
